PMA Celebrates Cindy Clark's Nonprofit Leadership

February 2022

After a stellar consulting career with PMA since 2014, Cindy Clark has decided to begin enjoying a well-deserved retirement.

"While we had the benefit of Cindy's talents for seven years, her impact on this region's nonprofit community spans four decades," noted PMA President Patton McDowell. "She cared deeply about each and every organization she helped, and about the individuals she coached and trained.  Her legacy will continue at dozens of nonprofit organizations."

"One of the things I most enjoyed about working with the PMA team was the opportunity to partner with so many dedicated individuals and organizations who are doing such important work in the community," said Clark. "The nonprofits with whom we worked are providing much needed programs and services to thousands of people, and it is both humbling and rewarding to support them in the role of a consultant."

Cindy joined the PMA team after more than 35 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, strategic planning, management, development, and marketing. Prior to joining PMA, her background included work in healthcare, higher education, and the independent school sectors. Most recently, Cindy served for nine years as a member of the Senior Leadership Team and Vice President for Development with Hospice & Palliative Care Charlotte Region, where she managed a successful $10 million capital campaign to build Levine & Dickson Hospice House. She previously served for 14 years as Director of Advancement at Gaston Day School, an independent school in Gastonia, NC. Cindy began her career in Advancement at Belmont Abbey College, where she served first as Director of Public Relations and later became Director of Development. Cindy received a bachelor's degree in English Education from Appalachian State University and is a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE).  She is a former board member and President of AFP Charlotte and a former recipient of their Outstanding Professional Fundraising Executive Award.

The PMA team - both current and past members - joined Cindy for a celebration of her nonprofit leadership on February 9, 2022, (see photo below) and would like to thank her for her dedication to the firm, its nonprofit clients and the philanthropic community in general.
